Exploring Shamanism

The practice of shamanic journeying is an ancient method of accessing spiritual wisdom by developing a means of communication with helping spirits and animal allies. These tools can be used for personal growth as well as healing of the self and others. We will explore How to integrate shamanism in everyday life and empower ourselves to live a life of Spirit. If you are curious about shamanism and would like to have an opportunity to learn this ancient meditative practice, join us for a wonderful weekend of journeying and exploration!

What to expect:

  • An overview on the history of shamanism and understanding the cosmology of
    the spiritual realm from a shamanic perspective.
  • Discussion on creating sacred space and ceremony.
  • Guided journeys to meet your power animal and Spirit teacher.
  • Learning your personal journeying style.
  • Learn how to decipher symbols and messages in your journeys.
  • Practice simple divination journeys for a partner.
  • Explore journeys for spiritual protection and simple healing methods.
  • Learning various traditions of the sacred directions and calling sacred space
  • Choosing or creating power objects or Medicine objects. How to imbue them with power
  • Journeys for protection and personal healing
  • Communicating with Nature
  • Preparing a Fire ceremony
  • Ana Larramendi is a shamanic practitioner, teacher, minister, public speaker, chef, Vision Quest leader, wilderness enthusiast, and ceremonialist who has been studying and practicing shamanism since 1989. She is an initiated mesa carrier in the Inka tradition, is a member of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and is a founding member of the Society of Shamanic Practitioners, an organization created to support the re-emergence of using shamanism as a form of spiritual healing in our culture and integrating it with western medicine.
    Ana has been a lecturer for the University of Wisconsin Medical School, and the Madison Area Technical College. She was a keynote presenter for the Society of Shamanic Practitioners first annual conference and is a former board member of Pachamama Inc., a non-profit shamanic community organization.

    Ana has studied extensively with teachers from many traditions, yet her greatest teachers have been the Earth, elements, plants and animals. Ana’s passion is to heal the Earth and humankind’s relationship with Her.
