Gateways to Transformation
Participants complete the Gateways to Transformation inventory, a series of questions that give rise to deep personal reflection in the following areas: Deep Connection, Silence and Solitude, Meaning and Purpose, Emotions, Physical, Intellectual, Creativity, and Transcendence. Following completion of the inventory, participants and their mentors engage in a sustained discussion of the discoveries participants have made in the process of completing the inventory.
Gateways to Transformation is an eight hour session. Participants begin by completing the Gateways inventory. They discuss the results of the inventory with one of the advisors whom they have chosen as their mentor when they register for the session.
There are a variety of formats in which the discussion of the inventory can take place. Participants may choose the method and format that is most convenient for them:
- Participants may meet in person with their mentor. Face to face meetings are most desirable because of the interactive nature of these meetings.
- Participants may schedule a series of phone conversations with their mentor.
- Participants may engage in an e-mail correspondence with their mentor.
In each case, the participant signs up for the Gateways session, chooses a mentor, and has an initial conversation with the mentor. The mentor is then available for questions the participant might have while completing the inventory. The participant and mentor also agree on a format at this time.
Completing the inventory and the dialogue with the mentor is, as the name of the program suggests, a gateway. The program is the beginning of the participant’s quest for personal transformation leading to change in the wider world. Ideally, Gateways will lead to more work in the Starwalkers program, fostering more fundamental and lasting change.
When Gateways is concluded, the mentor challenges the participant to manifest in his/her life the discoveries made in the session.
