May 3-4, 2008
(Please arrive by 9:30am on Saturday, May 3. The workshop will conclude at 4pm Sunday, May 4.)
Rescheduled - New Dates Coming Soon!

Anyone can learn Reiki. It requires no special skills, knowledge, or religious/spritual beliefs. Reiki is an energy healing modality that is passed on through “attunements” from a Reiki Master to a student. There are three levels, or “degrees” of learning and attunement to many traditional Reiki systems. At the conclusion of the weekend, participants will be attuned to levels I and II of the traditional Usui Reiki healing system.
In this weekend workshop, we will come together in a community, to create a sacred space for healing. Meals will be prepared and eaten together. We will learn and practice the hands-on energy techniques of Reiki to heal ourselves, heal others, and heal through time and space (distance healing).
On Friday evening and Saturday, the First Degree of Reiki, you will learn:
- The history of Reiki
- An introduction to energy healing and the seven chakras
- Reiki hand positions and practice for self-healing
- Reiki hand positions and practice for healing others
- The Reiki Principles
- The process of attunement, where Reiki energy is passed from master to student
On Sunday, the Second Degree of Reiki, you will learn:
- Three energy activating symbols, passed down from early Reiki Masters.
- Ways to heal at a distance: above the body, across time and space, into the past and future.
- How to create a Reiki “Bridge of Light” between yourself and people/places you wish to send healing.
- Ethics of touch and holistic bodywork.
- More detailed information on setting up your own Reiki or Holistic Healing practice.
The class is part lecture, part demonstration, and part hands-on experience. You will have a chance to practice what you learn with other participants. Following the class, you will be attuned and presented with a certificate showing completion of the First and Second Degrees of the Usui Reiki healing system.
Please bring a pillow, notebook and pen for note writing and journaling.
We will cook and eat meals together. Organic food will be emphasized and we will provide for each person’s dietary needs. Sleeping arrangements are in a private home in a wooded area, with various possibilities: beds, couches, sleeping bags on the floor. Depending on the temperature, you may wish to sleep outdoors - in the gazebo, in a tent that you provide, or under the stars.
Cost $300 - includes the workshop, a detailed manual, overnight accomodations, and meals.
