Turning Point
We begin to change our lives…
Turning Point is a weekend retreat during which participants discover the entrance to real and lasting change in their lives. Turning Point focuses on the brain and the nervous system, the center and origin of power, activity and energy in our bodies. The energy of the universe flows through our bodies, our cells, our nervous systems. Turning Point leads to understanding of how these spiritual energies flow, how our daily patterns of living and thinking affect this flow, and how we can strengthen our soul consciousness to affect change in these energy patterns.
The retreat begins on a Thursday evening, when participants prepare a meal and eat together, and the process of the workshop is discussed. We also view the movie “What the bleep do we know?†as an introduction to the concept of energy flow through the body and the formation of habitual thoughts and actions that block healthy living and change.
On Friday, participants spend time working alone and individually with a Starwalkers advisor to discover and document the habits that participants would like to change, as well as the contexts for these patterns of thinking and living. To aid their discovery, participants will write in journals, spend time in nature, make collages or other visual expression, whatever mode fits the style of individual participants and aids in their understanding.
Saturday begins with a discussion of participants’ dreams as a means of continuing to understand our soul consciousness. Later, participants continue to work individually with advisers on plans to shift energy flow.
Sunday brings an introduction to Reiki, a Japanese form of energy healing where ki, or universal life force energy, is projected through our hands to provide relaxation and healing for our highest good. A closing ritual will also take place on Sunday.
Lasting change, and change that manifests itself in the world, does not happen quickly or easily. Lasting change occurs over time, and by living an aware and intentional life in the context of a caring and supportive community, the context that Starwalkers provides. However, with Turning Point, participants can begin to chart a direction for change and integrate practice for change in their daily lives once the workshop is completed.
Materials are provided.
Participants should bring dream journals or other records, or visual work that is relevant to the workshop topic.
Cost of the retreat is $325, which includes room, board, tuition, and materials.
